Hu Feng was a so important figure that no one can skip him over in Chinese history of ideas, culture and literature in 20th century. This thesis explores Hu Feng's significance in 20th century's cultural context from two aspects, that is, from his theoretical exploration (including partâ… &partâ…¡)and from his life experience (including part â…¢& part â…£). The first part discusses the internal combination between Hu Feng and the May 4th Movement. From the perspective of the two different extremes of the May 4th ideas, it reflects the discordance in Hu's artistic ideas.The second part concretely analyses the relationship between Hu and Mao's speech on the Forum about literature and art in Yan'an. We can find conflict between two kinds of discourse in Hu's artistic ideas.In the 3rd part, Hu's artistic ideas is divided into 4 stages, it inspects diachronically the influence upon his theory brought forth by his life experience and his noble character.The 4th part explores Hu's unique character from a deeper level through the narrating about the relationship between Hu and Mao Dong,Zhou Yang,Shu Wu and other minor companions.The conclusion put the emphasis on Hu's significance in 20th century cultural context. |
