In order to make people better understand how the children acquire modal particles, the paper explores the development of modal articles among the children with Han nationality aged 1-5 years old, describing the time, frequency of various modal particles and the sentence patterns and types with the modal Particles could co-occur: revealing the process and characteristics of children's acquisition of modal particles, and discussing some relevant questions as well. Introduction part introduces the general survey of study of modal particles as well as study of children's acquisition of modal particles, the content and aim of the paper, classification of modal particles, and the source of data. The first part explores the development of modal particles in children's language, according to four types of mood. The second part discusses the development of the six basic modal particles in details. The third part discusses the sequence of children's acquisition of modal particles, the contributing factors, and the basic mechanism of children's acquisition of modal particles. It's concluded in the paper that such factors as psychology and language structure lead to the prior acquisition of imperative and declarative modal particles, and that the children gradually acquire the modal particles by means of imitation, sentential deconstruction, sentential reconstruction, as well as sentential extension, etc.
