| As an important function word to express mood, the modal particles "a,ba,ma,ne" plays an important role in modern Chinese. However, the meaning of modal words is complex, subtle and elusive. Therefore,in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, the "teaching" and "learning" of modal particles is a difficult point.Based on the corpus of large scale Chinese interlanguage spoken and written corpus, this thesis analyzes the acquisition situation and error types of common modal paticles "a,ba,ma,ne" by international students in the elementary, intermediate and advanced, and finds that there are many errors in the acquisition of these modal particles. Therefore, this thesis analyzes the choice of sentence types and semantic functions of "a,ba,ma,ne" in modern Chinese,as well as the arrangement of modal particles in the syllabus of Chinese as a foreign language and textbooks.Firstly, based on the ontology of modal particles, this thesis discusses and analyzes the sentence types and semantic functions of the four modal particles, and finds that each modal particle always appears in a specific sentence pattern and has a core semantic function. The core semantic function of "a" is "remind and alleviate";"ba" means "low degree of confidence";"ma " means " strong doubt ";The situation of "ne " is a little more complicated,in the statement sentence, the form of "remind " in the non-question question,in the "NP+ne" and " VP+ne" in the expression of the " low question " mood.Secondly, this thesis makes a statistical analysis of the arrangement of "a,ba,ma,ne" in the teaching syllabus of Chinese as a foreign language and the teaching materials, and finds that the modal patticles in the syllabus are often not comprehensive and systematic, and there is still room for improvement in the selection of sentences and the interpretation of mood particles.Secondly, this thesis analyzes the corpus of guangwai-lancaster spoken and written language, and finds that the frequency of modal particles in spoken language corpus is much higher than that in written language corpus, with the largest gap being the word "a".In addition, the frequency and error rate of intermediate level students using the modal particles "a,ba,ma,ne" are the highest. The modal particle "ba" have the highest error rate. The most common types of errors are missubstitution and redundancy. The main reasons for the errors are the complexity of mood particles, the compilation of teaching materials and the learning strategies of students.Thirdly, this thesis puts forward some suggestions for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In the textbook, the selected sentences are in line with modern Chinese, the coresemantics of modal words are explained in the interpretation, and the comparative review of modal words is added in the unit.In teaching, teachers should combine with the core semantic function of modal words, reasonably use the comparative teaching of modal particles and create conversational situations. Finally, the conclusion of this theisis and the shortcomings of the research are summarized. |
