Zhang Ai-ling: The Existence's Seeking And Saying

Zhang Ailing have become a focus since 1980s. Both the populace and the academic circle have paid more attention to her. In this paper I want to prove that the mystery of Zhang lies in the deep thought, which has a great relation to the "existence" .From the view of existentialism, Zhang is a poem philosopher in the time of lack of spirit. As a thinker of life, she finds and discloses the existent dilemma of being blockaded. As an experiencer of existent emotion, she embodys desolate existent feeling, such as the fear, anxiety and desolation of life. As a undertaker of existence and a seeker of poem, she takes on human' s unavoided fate of death and the anxiety about the lost time, and try to find out the stability and eternity in the ordinary life.Zhang' s texts are all wonderful fables, "the Blockade" is the typical one of her many novels. From this novel, she finds the existence of being screened. She finds the human being is not "human being" on the real meaning. They all have lost themselves.Zhang' s experience of life is desolate. The "wasteland" visual images are herfcreation by which she can express her lonely heart. She finds the state of human beingin cities is all unreal. Shanghai is also a unreal city. Zhang express the emotionalthemes of "the life' s anxiety " and " the death' s fear" by the natural scenery.She uses the "wood" image to embody the unrational appetite, uses the "wall" imageto show the serious death , etc. The "wilderness" , the "jungle" , the "wall" , the"moon" , and the "human being of no way to describe" , etc comprise a series of the"wasteland" images.Zhang has chosen the undertaking towards existence and spent nearly her whole life on seeking the poem in her time of lack of spirit. She tries her best to turn the being-for-itself into the being-for-itself. She has created a series of harmony models between the human and the world. She has pointed to the probabilities of inhabitants full of poem in the ordinary human life.Zhang has taken part in and greatly helped the process of modernism of the Chinese modern literature through the seeking and saying existence. Her creations in her beautiful texts have shown the modern human' s existence and become the great importance cultural transcency towards both the existential aesthetic and the existential philosophy.
