The Multilateral Analysis Of The Textual Correlative Adverb "其实

The correlative word is one of the cohesive devices of the text. In this thesis, we studied the correlative adverb "其实" with the function of textual cohesion and relevance from the aspect of semantic, pragmatic, syntax and textual which are all on the background of textual.we separated "其实" into "其实1" and "其实2" on the basis of the grammatical meaning. And then we compared them and discovered that they had much difference and contrast in many aspects. First, in the aspect of pragmatic, the context from which " 其实1 " and "其实2 " appear, the pragmatic presupposition, the modal type and the communicative function are all different. Second, in the aspect of semantic, the semantic relationship, semantic property and the semantic structural formula of the syntagma connected by "其实1' or "其实2" are all different. Third, in the aspect of syntax, although "其实1' and "其实2" have the same syntax distribution in the text, they showed the apparent difference and contrast in the co-occurrence character. The co-occurrence character of "其实1" is very apparent, we called it marked. While "其实2" is just on the contrary, it is unmarked. And the different co-occurrence character was decided by their difference of the semantic.In the analysis of textual, we studied "其实" from the aspects of "position", "dislocation", "the functional change raised by dislocation" and "concealment and emergence". At last, we discriminated "其实" with other correlative words from the aspects of "substitution" and "continuous use".
