Adverb always receives much concern in modern Chinese grammar. Correlative adverb is the adverb which plays a related role, and occupies the important position in the adverb system. The study on Correlative adverb in the past always takes microcosmic as the core, only little research is related remacroscopic. The discussion of Correlative adverb systematically from terms of Syntax, Semantics, Text, will benefit to us in an all-round way. First of all, according to the forefathers' research, we confirmed the range of Correlative adverb based on two respects of sentence Syntax, Semantics. At the same time, According to the grammar function demonstrated in certain language unit of Correlative adverb, and the difference between range and target while making function up with the composition of other relevant languages, we divide the Correlative adverb into two kinds: Typical Correlative adverb and Atypical Correlative adverb. And, we also analyze the similarities and differences between them.Secondly, On the basis of analysis about the language material, we investigated the semantic relation and Semantic Orientation of Correlative adverb which have eight kinds of semantic relations, adduction, inference, explanation, result, time order, condition, transition, choice. They also have four kinds of semantic Orientation, point to the front, point to behind, point to the sentence, and point to outside sentence. In addition, from Show function, Simplify function, Topic mark function, " subjectivisation " function , focus mark function ,we analyze the Text function of Correlative adverb.Finally, this paper combines the phenomenon of error of foreign Chinese teaching towards Correlative Adverb, and put forward some methods of foreign Chinese teaching by using utilize linguistic context.
