In order to make people better understand how the children acquire compound sentence, the people explores the development of compound sentence among the children with Han nationality before five years old. The paper describes the time, frequency of various compound sentence and the syntactic types of clauses, revealing the process, characteristics and mechanisms of children's acquisition and development of construction word.The paper is composed of four parts. Introduction part introduces the general survey of study of children's acquisition of compound sentence, the content and aim of the paper, classification of compound sentence, the source of data, and the basic condition of children's acquisition of compound sentence. The first part explores the time, frequency of compound sentence and the logical relation of clause, according to every type of compound sentence. The second part describes the condition and the development of the clause form of compound sentence. The third part discusses the base of psychology and language of children's acquisition of compound sentence, concludes the sequence of children's acquisition of compound sentence, reveals the characteristics of children using construction word, explores the mechanisms of children's acquisition of compound sentence.It's concluded in the paper that factors such as language and intelligence have very important affection to the acquisition of compound sentence. Children have acquired the compound sentence on the base of one-word speech and multiword speech. Children acquired the compound sentence from easiness to difficulty gradually. The acquisition and use of construction word has tight relation to the children's acquisition of compound sentence. In our opinions, the children gradually acquire the compound sentence by means of imitation, replacing, syntactic segmentation, syntactic synthesis, as well as syntactic sextension, etc.
