There are four types of sentence pattern for prepositional phrase "Zai + Location word". A type:NP+VP+Zai+L("N" represents "noun", "P" represents "phrase", "V" represents "verb", "L" represents "Location"); B type: NP+Zai+L+VP; C type: Zai+L+NP+VP; D type: Zai+L+VP+NP. This thesis makes a detailed classification and study on A,B and C types . It also completely reveals syntactical, semantic, pragmatical and discourse factors that decide the position of "Zai+L". In addition, this thesis makes a comprehensive analysis of the concealment and the manifestation of the locative preposition "Zai". The research result of the thesis has certain practical significance to L2 Chinese pedagogy.
