A Study On The Terminal Recurrence Of Discourse Components In Modern Spoken Chinese

Repetition is a common linguistic phenomenon in modern Chinese,the phenomenon of terminal recurrence of discourse components as a special repetition phenomenon has attracted academic attention,but the research results are still relatively scattered.The terminal recurrence of discourse components means that the original discourse components in a sentence appear for the second time at the end of the same sentence,The overall structure can be written as:XYX₀.This article attempts to comprehensively analyze it from the three levels of syntax,semantics and pragmatics,analyze its formation mechanism and development motivation,and try to summarize the grammatical characteristics of discourse repetition phenomenon in order to broaden the current scope of repetition phenomenon research.Through comparative analysis,it is determined that the recurrence component in the recurrence phenomenon at the end of the discourse component generally appears only once and appears at the end of the sentence.It does not bear the stress of the sentence,it is closely connected with the expression part,and there will be no more pauses than syllables.It is not change the overall structure and semantics of the sentence,but only add the tone intensity of the sentence;From the analysis of the number of syllables,syntactic features,recurrence types and irregular phenomena,it is found that the recurrence phenomenon at the end of discourse components has grammatical features of randomness,complexity and productivity;From the analysis of formal meaning and contextual meaning,it is found that the recurrence sentence at the end of the discourse component is an emotional expression of the speaker's venting of the subjective emotion in the heart,and It mainly expresses the format meaning of question meaning and exclamation meaning.The language atmosphere that occurred in the fierce conflict may roughly express seven contextual meanings of reprimand,opposition,grievance,irony,doubt,remorse,and praise.Most recurring sentences are for the speaker to vent negative emotions such as anger and dissatisfaction;From a pragmatic perspective,the recurrence component is the subjective utterance of the speaker's independent choice.It has the functions of highlighting topic and emotional reinforcement,and it highlights the speaker's perspective and expresses the speaker's subjective emotions.Recurrence of discourse components at the end of discourse is a phenomenon of omission.In essence,it is the incomplete repetition of the subject sentence.Due to linguistic rules of labor-saving principle and sequential principle,the speaker will first select the word or structure at the beginning of the sentence to form the terminal recurrence of discourse components in order to express personal subjective emotions.
