Research On The Redesigning Of Chinese Children's Folk Toys

This thesis takes Chinese folk children's toys as the researching target and tries to find out the ways to accelerate the development of Chinese folk children's toys and to improve the designing standards of Chinese toys through the analysis of their origin, development and their present situation. After analyzing the components of toys specifically, I put forward the idea that Chinese folk children's toys should be included into the mainstream of public consumptions and only in this way the Chinese folk children's toys can be inherited and developed. One of the best ways to achieve this goal is "redesigning". We focus on the research of redesigning of the Chinese folk children's toys. After the comprehensive analysis of the components of Chinese folk children's toys, we draw a conclusion that Chinese folk toys have distinguished ethical features in the aspects of "the amusement", " ways to realize amusement " and "the shapes". These features are not only conveyed through the Chinese traditional tastes but through the demands for folk toys and traditional thinking manner of Chinese folk toys. Based on this, we bring forward rationalized methods according to the real market and the current cultural and economical situations and combine them with the methods and process of modern industrial design, which infuses modem design into traditional toys, so as to achieve the target of redesigning Chinese folk children's toys and realizing the inheriting and development of Chinese folk children's toys. This thesis aims at getting the features of Chinese folk children's toys configuration and formation through the method of the combination of comparing and on-the spot research, and at obtaining an applied designing rule and method from living examples, which consequently will lead to some scientific and precise designing methods for modern toys designing from the industrial designing view. The ultimate objective for the thesis is to give instruction to the modern toys designer and sequentially develop Chinese ethnical style and bring back the traditional toys culture to modem society by redesigning Chinese folk children's toys . We can gain the inspiration from Chinese folk toys to instruct toys development and start brands. By redesigning traditional toys we can develop a new Chinese toy culture and at the same time to carry forward the traditional toys so as to enrich our indoor toys market. On the basis of reviewing, inheriting and developing the traditional culture, we should assimilate the essence of modern technology and art to create a modern toys culture with distinguished Chinese style.
