Virtual Design Studio--Study On Network-Based Virtual Product Design

There is a lack of famous brand in Chinese manufacturing. It is because that corporation is short of the powers of innovation on industry fields. Corporation needs modern manufacturing technology to get victory in the furious international competition. Information technology continuously strengthens the modern manufacturing, so as to form the pattern of product development based—on virtual and network technology. Not only design department within corporation but also independent design company began to adopt the virtual pattern of product design that based on network. Virtual design studio is a kind of assembled design tool that bases on the design pattern mentioned above, and can improve the power of the innovation on product design. The study on VDS is in the ascendant, and has become a brand-newly lesson crossing the courses and involve many realms, among them have: virtual reality, cooperative design, organization behavior, interaction science etc.. This paper introduced the makeup,function and characteristic of VDS. The core is the principles and methods on virtual design. The problem is analyzed from three points of view: the mechanism of cooperative design, the management of cooperative design, the representation pattern of virtual design.This paper studied the mechanism of cooperative design and analyzed the mode of cooperative design between designers to construct the more humane environment of VDS. It can improve the level of cooperation in design team;this paper studied the designers 'working and intellection in the network—based virtual environment, and explored the management mode on cooperative design, so as to promote communication and the share of the resource through VDS;this paper summarized communication means in network—based virtual environment, and compared between the synchronization and asynchronism mode of cooperation design, so that VDS can reinforce the management of team and project; representation means of design is discussed in Virtual design representation, and its virtues in the aspect of interaction, cooperation, virtual reality to provide evidence for the VDS's building.
