The anxiety of the graduate student in period of vocation selecting will do harm to their mind and body health, and will influence negatively to the development of career. So the educator of university should think much of it and should give effective mental guidance and help to them. After assessing with STAI (Form-Y) to 150 graduates that will graduate in 2005, the researcher discovered that in period of vocation selecting, graduates suffered more anxieties than undergraduates and the value of graduate's anxiety was higher than the norm of Chinese university students obviously. And the anxiety condition made people worried very much. The researcher found that the anxiety came mainly from the employment competition pressure, lack of the employment support, lack of self-confidence and worrying about career foreground. On the basis of above results, the researcher designed a project of psychological education to interfere graduates'vocational selection anxiety. And organized a group-based intervention activity to guide graduates'vocational psychology. Among the activity, some group-therapy methods and techniques were applied, such as cognitive change therapy, self-confidence training, relaxing experience, member interaction, group discussion, experience sharing, etc. Pre-test and post-test have been used in the experimental design to the experimental-group and control group respectively in the research. And some research methods have been used, such as interview, questionnaire investigation, psychology test, etc. The result shows that there is obvious difference between pre-test and post-test results of experiment-group'anxiety and its reasons, and the pre-test value is lower than the post-test value obviously. There is remarkable difference between the post-test value of experimental-group's and control-group's anxiety and its reasons, and the level of experimental-group is lower remarkably than control-group. The result of experimental research shows that the group-based intervention activity to guide graduates'vocational psychology is an effective method on helping graduates to overcome vocational selection anxiety. The group member's evaluation to the group activity is very good and the researcher has received the expectant results. The project of psychological education to interfere graduates'vocational selection anxiety is effective and feasible and can be used in psychological education process of vocational selection.
