Locution is a kind of fixed ethic phrase among various languages. Though locution, as a branch of idiom, is simple in form, contains plenty of expressions. Studying locutions will be significant not only in teaching but in scientific study as well.This paper researches on Korean and Chinese locution of human body, mainly on the words related to the head which refer to the Chinese and Korean dictionaries. The researching method is on the basis of the comparison between the meaning and expressions of the human body locutions.Based on the research of predecessors, this paper discusses firstly on the definition and the classification of locution, and according to this, goes further on defining and classifying the Korean and Chinese locutions of body. It compares and studies the meaning of the body locutions with a reference to modern semantics theory and comparative method and then assorts the results. This paper also researches the general and specific characters of Chinese and Korean words of body locutions.Since Korea and China have a long culture communication history and belong to the same language phylum, they share many general features on both meaning and expressions. It enjoys a great possibility for one language being translated directly into another. The Korean and Chinese locutions, which connect with the enginery of parts of human body, have less meaning. Yet most of it has relations to expression, attitude, mood, tolerance, and capability. The more the part of the body contacts with the outside and is stimulated, the more meaning it will have. However, because of the differences of nationality, history,background culture, living environment, regime, thinking method, and words and characters, it presents also many differences in meaning and forms.Therefore, it will help us to understand the cultural background and the general and specific characters of the two countries, if we make a comprehensive comparison.
