The Southwest Silk Road began from the trade of the civil business, and strengthened with the development of the ages. The road was an important means for the emperors of past dynasties to control the economy and politics of Yunnan. Yunnan is a province of great culture, with abundant cultural resource. The culture of Yunnan is a treasure to China and the world. However, the culture of the southwest Silk Road is a special one, which played an important role to the development of the multi-culture in Yunnan. The Southwest Silk Road has not only changed the structure and form of local nations, but also brought the advanced Han-culture to Yunnan. The buildings on the both sides of the Silk Road were influenced by Han-culture. The southwest Silk Road changed the life style and faiths of the natives and improved their living standard. Therefore, the southwest Silk Road is a road of business and also a road of Han-culture.In this research, the historical background, the race background, the cultural background, and affects of The southwest Silk Road to the natives in Yunnan in every stage is studied by means of application anthropology. The influence went deeply into every aspect of the local residents, such as the life style, religion and faith, language, dress etc. The building comes out of the culture, and the change of the culture is showed by the form system of the settlement and structure of the buildings.
