The Stylistic Features Of Banking English And Its Translation

Under the trend of financial globalization, banks of different countries have many opportunities to cooperate with each other. Since worldwide accepted English becomes the most commonly used language in banking business activities, Banking English has attracted more and more attention. The object of this paper is to find some concrete practical translation skills on the bases of the stylistic analyses and translation theories. The analyses of stylistic features, translation theories,and translation principles are the bases. All these analyses are for the purpose of summarizing the practical translation skills of Banking English.The thesis is composed of four chapters.Chapter one gives some basic introductions of banks and banking businesses, and briefly analyzes English used in banking businesses. Then it throws lights on the importance and necessity of learning Banking English.Chapter two is mainly on the stylistic analyses of Banking English. It gives some theory background about style and stylistics firstly. After listing general stylistic features of Banking English, this chapter analyzes Banking English from three points of view, that is, lexical study, syntactical study and text study.According to the above analyses of stylistic features, chapter three will discuss the translation skills of Banking English and it should be mentioned that this paper focuses on the English to Chinese translation. Firstly, there is a brief introduction about translation. Secondly, this chapter would give an explanation about the relationship between translation and style.
