Translation Report On Product Service Manual Of Bank Of China For Small And Medium-sized Enterprises

In today’s world of rapid economic development, financial industry plays an important role in participating in international cooperation and competition. The development of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) becomes the financial focus and gets the key support of the nation, while the translation of financial products and services that banks provided plays an important role in the development of finance and the attracting of the foreign investment. With the highest degree of internationalization and diversification, Bank of China seizes the new opportunity for the SME, and makes a series of banking products and services for the corporate customers, aiming to become an efficient and professional bank partner to meet the needs of all kinds of customers in the world.I make a Chinese-English translation practice on Product Service Manual of Bank of China for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, and write this translation report aiming to find the difficulties and problems in practice and conclude the solutions for the hard point. In the first and second part of my report, I introduce the background, position and source of the aiming translation practice texts, and give the reason why I choose to translate it. In the third part, I focus on the difficulties and problems that I have met in the practices and the features of financial English (brief, professional and standard), and make solution suggestions on the financial words chosen and the sentences’translation by some general skills. Full understanding of the text, fixing the context, and keeping the continuity of the passage help the translation getting the standard of financial English as accurate, integrated and standardized, rigorous, and professional and understandable. At the last part I submit some methods and ways from C-E translation and point out the problems that I have not solved.Through analysis of the translation practices on the Product Service Manual of Bank of China for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, I make some suggestions on translation of financial English, especially the banking English, aiming to give some references on Chinese-English translation of this kind of text.
