Over one hundred year , the scholar in china attached much importance to the research of the relationship between Ibsen's dramas and china, but less to critical study of his poems , however , observation on Ibsen's poems play an important roe in researching his dramas, both of which are mutually demonstrated .improved and complemented.Ibsen lived in a turbulent time when the campaign for Norwegian liberty and independence was booming .He was deeply influenced by Norwegian folk literature and formed an independent and rough character. Therefore, the dramatist's poems reflects the essence of the times and his own philosophy as an artistic portrayal of the real life , the development of Norwegian history and a modern transformation of Norway's folk literature .Another characteristic of Ibsen's poems is that a strong pirate's spirit .By fully portraiting the images of Viking who pursued honor ,freedom and wealth at the cost of their lives , the poems reveal the pioneering spirit of Northern European people who took a risk exploiting their land , the spirit of struggle against the power ,the hardship ,and for freedom, all of which are the national spirit for Northern European people to inherit and promote .The third remarkable characteristic of Ibsen's poems lies in the fairy-tale colour .Children's innocence and taste flow out in a considerable part of his poems adopting children's thinking modes and romantic techniques by using images of birds and beasts.A flavor of ballad gives off from Ibsen's poems .Folk literature is one of major sources of his poems. For example, the images of evil spirit of forest and water in the poems are frequently used in Northern Europe .In terms of artistic form, Ibsen demonstrated trait of ballads such as elements of folk songs, circular sentence structure, stanzaic repetition, folk wit and humors.The trend of the times and the national tradition fostered Ibsen. As a return, Ibsen enriches the national tradition with his active participation in his age. From the viewpoint of the close relationship between Ibsen's poems and Northern European folk literature, Ibsen's poems are considered as his whole life's artistic records, in which he successfully finds the way to combine the traditional forms of the folk literature with the modern spirit and quality. In the end, a feasible strategy can be drawn from Ibsen's poems to inherit folk culture: infuse folk form with modern spirit and quality.
