This article is an integrative research about the Xing Kiln in Tang Dynasty. It is composed of the appraise of Xing kiln's recordation in literature, its research history, the condition when excavated, the sort of shape and figure, ceramic glaze characteristics, produced procedures, fire techniques, imprinting and production distributing.This article is divided into six parts.The introductive part affirms the feasibility, the major aspect of the article and the significance of this thesis.Part one: The evaluation of Xing kiln's recordation in literature and research history.On one hand the article appraises in brief on the basis of the recordation of Xing Kiln, which was collected in the literature of Tang and Song Dynasty. On the other hand, it also thoroughly introduces the relative research about Xing Kiln in recent years. Part two: Excavated condition.On the base of occupying a plenty of essential material, the article states the Xing Kiln porcelain of Tang Dynasty in region, which disseminated in different places, excavated from grave, sites and the kilns, etc.Certainly it also contains some fancy ones from museum and private collection. It offers condition for the advance research.Part Three: Shape and figure's sort and stage researchThis article first introduces the glaze color, decoration, and plastic arts of Xing Kiln in Tang Dynasty. It then uses the method of archaeological typology to state the representative porcelains and compartmentalize them by shape. Finally it studies the stages on the basis of genre compartmentalizing. It plots out the Xing Kiln in Tang dynasty into its early, middle, and late stages.
