Application Of MCAI In Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

Along with the rapid growing up of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL) in last several decades, the application of modern education techniques in TCFL becomes a hotspot which has been studied and discussed in the recent years. However, the research of this topic is still in the initial phase in the field of TCFL in our country presently. The authentic TCFL based on the techniques of Multimedia Computer Assisted Instruction still stays on basic theory study. Owing to this, this paper tries to deeply explore the principles of the application of MCAI in TCFL and some practical application problems of the exploiting strategies of multimedia courseware about TCFL.This paper tries to provide a series of methods of practical application of MCAI from the theoretical and applied aspects for the teachers of TCFL. At the theory aspect, this paper will deeply analyze the applied theories and principles of using multimedia computer techniques in the process of TCFL, basing on the particularity of TCFL's content and springing from the cognition regulation of Chinese learning by students abroad. And it provides a suit of effective systematic theory of the application of MCAI for the teachers of TCFL.At the application aspect, this paper will display that how the Multimedia Teaching could make the students aboard improve their Chinese language abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the carefree environment with various performance means such as animation, audios, hyper text and abundant, friendly interface of man-machine conversation, through analyzing the applied strategies of several kinds of characteristic multimedia techniques which have been used in the courseware of TCFL. And it brings forward eight basic application examples such as voice-teaching, listening-teaching, Chinese characters teaching, intercommunicate-cultural teaching, China general situation teaching, imitation of blackboard and the notes of class, self-study and self-examine based on the man-machine conversation concretely. In the designing and exploiting stage of the software examples, this paper uses the Chinese version of PowerPoint2003 which is designed by American company Microsoft.
