With the rapid development of modem computer technology, multimedia technology is more and more frequently used in modem foreign language teaching. It has brought great changes in such aspects as teachers’concepts, teaching methods, teaching resources, teaching results, etc. Thus, both teachers and students gain great benefit. The use of multimedia can facilitate and motivate the students to learn more actively and independently by taking advantage of the combination of texts, sound, graphs, images and animation in the teaching process to present the learning content in an efficient way.This paper intends to study how to apply the multimedia assisted instruction into Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language listening teaching. From the theoretical perspective, this paper starts from the current situation of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language listening teaching, integrated with the application of the multimedia assisted in the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language listening teaching. Furthermore, it proceeds from learning theories and teaching theories based on the particularity of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, and deeply analyzes fundamental of using multimedia courseware in the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language listening teaching. A case is designed and analyzed for the purpose of explore the practical application of multimedia in the listening teaching of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
