A Research On The Design Of The New Words List In The Elementary Chinese Intensive Textbook

The normal way to design the new words list in the Chinese textbook is word-centred, that makes the Chinese learners are used to process the words as a whole, without awaring of the fact that Chinese characters are independent ones that have their own meanings. As a result, the learning of Chinese characters often turn to be inefficacy, and what's worse is that this do affect the learning of words. Based on this fact,this thesis carried out a study on the new words list in the Chinese textbooks (focused on the elementary ones)and then combined both of the characters of Chinese characters ,words and cognitive way that learners on when they learn Chinese.The biggist improvement this study did is shifting the emphases of the new words list from the words to the Chinese characters.The new design is under the idea of "Chinese characters-centred" which is going the way that "explaining Chinese characters first,making words later".For the details,there are two parts of a new words list in an elementary Chinese intensive textbook .The first part begins at the stage of phonetics ,in order to offer the basic knowledge of Chinese characters to help the learners to figure out the "logical points of starting "to process a Chinese character. As for the second part, together with the learning of words and grammar ,has its special way to explain each item whichincludes three basic parts:the explaining of Chinese characters,the explaining of new words,and then making new words to extend the vocabulary.At the end of the fifth chapter,there are the examples for both of this two parts.This thesis took a try to combine the learning of Chinese characters with the learning of words and grammar under the way to improve the design of new words list, with the prupose to gain more space for the learning of Chinese characters in the system of TCSL.And it does expect this try will improve the unsatisfactory actuality that the learners do not well at the learning of Chinese characters and what's more,is to improve the learning of words.
