The Dark Beauty

The article finds the marked character-extremeness- in Japanese aesthetics from the great differences of modern Japanese works and classical Japanese works, and shows the boundary of "extremeness of beauty" in aesthetics. This article indicates that the "extremeness of beauty" is a new concept which has non-partial essentiality ,but has different values by different aesthetics standpoints.This article finds the particularity of Japanese extreme beauty,pureness and object character,by comparing many texts. Pureness which is the chief character of all over the extremeness of beauty is also outstanding in Japanese works. Object character which is the most particular character in Japanese aesthetics is a kind of prolongation and aberration of pureness. The pureness and object character show positive or negative in different works.From conventional concept of beauty,sex and life in Japanese aesthetics,this article studies the foundation of Japanese civilization.In the last part,this article points out the limitation of Japanese works ,that is abnormality because of the bizarrerie and limited theme. The majority of Japanese works are not canons because of this limitation.
