Stereotype is a kind of stable viewpoint toward a certain social group, which is generally related to some character and behavior.People always focus on the occupation-sex stereotypes, one of the important research areas in the social stereotype. We use a new approach-Stereotypic Explanatory Bias(SEB) to the implicit occupation-sex stereotype about the undergraduate in this study. We first present the concept, measurement and previous research of stereotypes. Then we use two experiments to measure the implicit occupational-sex stereotype. The main aim of experiment 1 is to use the Stereotypic Explanatory Bias to measure the implicit occupational-sex stereotypes about the undergraduates. We assume there might be significant differences. The results indicated that implicit occupational-sex stereotype was apparently found and no gender difference was found. The aim of experiment 2 is to explore effects of targets'characters on the application of implicit occupational-sex stereotype. We present photographs of persons who have different sex. The results indicated that the targets'characters have effects on the application of implicit occupational-sex stereotype. And the targets'characters and stereotypes on implicit stereotypes operate in parallel. Finally, we discussed the results in terms of models of the social stereotypes.
