| It is not ,indeed, a simple task for Koreans to teach Chinese language. Especially, the most difficult one in learning Chinese language is how to pronounce initials. We find it most difficult to understand and grasp initials. There are two major problems here. One is that we, Koreans also have our own pronouncing methods for Chinese letters, which are likely to confuse us, and the other is that Chinese language has its initials among which Korean language doesn't have at all. Therefore, Koreans can't easily distinguish Korean consonants from Chinese initials when learning Chinese language in the beginning. So learning Chinese language will not be possible until we solve this problem. Accurate pronunciation is one of the basic functions for us to learn Chinese phonetics and speak Chinese well finally. This study is based on a theory which compares the two pronouncing methods of the consonants, Korean ones and Chinese ones to approach the best way to teaching Chinese initials. The followings are the orders of comparing the two languages. 1. Comparing the quantity between Korean phonetics and Chinese phonetics. 2. Classifying Chinese initials. 3. Classifying Korean consonants. 4. Comparing the classifications of Chinese initials and Korean consonants. 5. The method of pronouncing Chinese initials. 6. The method of pronouncing Korean consonants. 7. Corresponding Chinese initials and Korean one.I have students perceive the basic pronouncing knowledge of each language and then compare them and find the differences. This teaching method will enable students to understand and learn to pronounce Chinese easily. I have come to realize this fact through about 15 to 16 years of my teaching at school and this is why I decided to study this field. In the process of studying this field, I have referred to related documents and my teaching experience at school. |
