Although the innovation of art education is creasing in university, but the art history course seems to be forgotten and still in the corner. With the humanism spirit shining today, that situation makes humanism courses develop slowly and difficult, now it can't keep up the step of the innovation in junior or middle school. From the end of 20 centuries, many academies promotes into colleges or universities, the scale of academy becomes smaller and smaller. Most of undergraduate students are the main teacher source for junior and middle school. Just for that, the writer targets the discussion on art history course and teaching in the undergraduate normal college.The purpose of the writer choose the subject lies in, not only proving art history is an important part in art culture and civilization, and proving art history course as an "general culture" is how beneficial, but also, the writer want to give some valid suggestion on art history course and teaching. Because there are many popular questions, for example, art history course and teaching are ignored by the leaders in school; the students study it in classroom, and the classroom like an "active museum"; art history taught with time order; the method of study is teacher say and students listen; the main contents are classical painting; the result of study is passing exam, the process is not important...etc. The writer will do a deep study to these problems in the paper.On the basis of DBAE art course theory, the writer arrange the main contents on the following: first, elaborating art history in normal college is very benefit; second, showing the arguments supporting innovation; third, giving some suggestion on art history course and teaching, including manage innovation, content innovation, form innovation, method innovation, teacher team innovation and exam innovation. Finally, we can draw a conclusion that the course of art history should be take to an importance place, we shouldn't like it be, it can and should be similar with the course of Chinese or mathematics...etc. It is very necessary that art history is studied in primary education.The method of research, the writer mainly uses the comparison method, investigating data and experience Summary. Especially, the writer contrasts on the situation in the United States, Germany and China, textbooks and the ways of teaching.
