Work family conflict has become a new area of applied psychology in the west. However, there are few theoretical and empirical researches on it in china. In the present research, exploratory factor analysis was used to test the construct validity of'work family conflict inventory'which was developed by Carson(2000), and the level of employee's work family conflict , the relationships of work family conflict ,mental health and career satisfaction were studied. And finally six factors were extracted from the 18 items, so the structure is consistent with the former. Later confirmatory factor analysis was used to validate the structure as well as. The results showed that it can be used to test the work family conflict of employees in China. The study's conclusions are listed as follows: The average work family conflict level isn't high except for time-based work→family conflict. In addition, correlation analysis showed that there were significant relationships between work family conflict, mental health and career satisfaction. Subsequently Regression analysis was used and the findings are that behavioral based family→work conflict , behavioral based work→family conflict, time based work→family conflict and stress based work→family conflict can predict mental health effectively; time based work→family conflict and strees based family→work conflict can predict career satisfaction. The differences in terms of age, gender, education, experiences, job title and having children or not are significant.
