Homeric Epics and Gesar are two of the best heroic epics in the ancient Greece and the old Tibet in China. Because they were born in different districts and with different backgrounds, they are varied. But they are all the products of the early period of human history, so they also have much in common. If we compare these two early miracles, it will mean well to the real life and has much academic value. In this article, the writer compares the aesthetic constructions of these two epics from three aspects - tragical beauty, artistic beauty and cultural beauty.Tragedy is one of the most important categories of aesthetics. Tragedy means suffering, miseries, and ruins. One of the Homer's epics Iliad, which is about the Trojan War in the Greece history, is a reflection of the cruelty, solemn ness and horror of wars as well as the death of heroes. Gesar is not only about the suffering of people, the cruelty of wars but also about the happiness of beating the devils. In all it is a comedy with some tragic color.Both these two heroic epics have excellent artistic beauty. It is showed in three aspects - the beauty of magic, the beauty of language and the beauty of structure. The beauty of magic is a special form of romanticism. It makes an intricate and visional world by using fairies, devils, witchcrafts, illusion and other kinds of art ways. The language styles of these two epics both are plain with a lot of similitude including some simple ones and some complicated ones. The similitude in Homeric epics is extolled as the Homeric similitude for its specialty. While Gesar forms its unique characteristics by combining similitude with proverbs. In structure, they all have a light hand of composition. Culture is the inheritance of human's practical activities and . The heroic epics are a historical encyclopedia as well as a showing place of the earlier culture. This article analyses the religious culture, humanistic culture and customs culture. Religion can be divided into natural religion and artificial religion. The Olympus religion in Homeric Epics is a natural one but also has something about artificial religion. Gesar not only has the archaic of natural religion but also has been infiltrated by artificial religion and Buddhism. Religious culture and humanistic culture unite well in these two works. The heroes reveal their free will and values of life in the war. Customs are the fashions and traditions that come into being after a long time's activities during the human's history. These two epics are the best shows of the traditions of the years they belong to. They are like pictures of the old social life and also the most beautiful sceneries of all the epics.
