The Awe Of Life

As a creator of awe life ethics, the influence of Albert Schweitzer improved a lot, whose ethics is a transgression to traditional western ethics.Among the western ethicist in 20 century, he represent a perfect combination of individual all-development idea and Christianity's intensive loving spirit.He criticize the dualism in western tradition and ethics at the base of cernter-humannisim, construct a ethics that regarding life as ,emphasis human should awe all life, however human's life, and plant's life.From Schweitzer, the benevolence is to save life, stimulate the development of life, evil is to destroy life, the development. Just only human shoulder the ethics duty of awe life, peace can be achieved, culture can progress, so Schweitzer establish the awe life as ethics' absolute motto. From this , Schweitzer point out that people should shoulder on ethics duty. On the one hand, Schweitzer approve respecting the life in India and China's philosophy. On the other hand, he disapprove the attitudes that leaving the world in India and China's traditional idea. He thinks that people should positively confirm the world and life, everyone's life should have done something and make contributions, which have a lot of inspiration to the contemporary people.Schweitzer's ethics directly influence the construction and development of contemporary ecological ethics, and make positive sense to china's social development.The study of Schweitzer in China is limited, the works is more less. So the study of Schweitzer pay attention to its original works to interpreter, take a way of reading and comprising to study. Especially Mr Chen zehuan's《awe life-the abstract of fifty years》accuse the Schweitzer's basic works about awe life ethics, which completely represent Schweitzer's ethics theory. It is a important book about Schweitzer.It's a pity that Schweitzer's foreign language works are limited and it is hard to find. So the lack of original works is unfortunately. Otherwise, Schweitzer's theory is important to modern ecological ethics. This article takes methods of synthesis and comparison to tell ecological ethics. I compare different idea of thinkers abroad and make a basic study towards the relation between China's traditional culture, China's development of modern society and ecological ethics.This article expound the Schweitzer's characteristics of personality, the idea's origin of ethics, basic characteristics, relevant assessment and the enlightenment of China's social development.
