The middle school students are transiting from child to adult, and their psychologies are becoming mature. This period is the most important stage for their psychological development. During the period there have many conflicts and bring many troubles for them, the social anxiety is the great problem. The coping strategy is the detailed action after cognitive assess. The research for the relationship between middle school student's social anxiety and coping strategy has great sense. The research has surveyed with 630 students from junior one to senior three in Wuhan city and Huangshi city. The research analyse the difference between their social anxiety, coping strategy, gender, grade and school type and also analyse the relationship between social anxiety and coping strategy. The conclusions are as following:1. The middle school students' social anxiety show normal distribution. There are no significant differences in gender. On the whole, there are significant differences between good middle school and common middle school and the common middle school students' social anxiety are higher than good middle school students'.2. The middle school students' social anxiety is not steady. The trend is declining during junior, the junior one students' social anxiety is higher than junior two and three. The trend is increasing during senior, the senior there is highest.3. The middle school students' coping strategies are following: problem solving, seeking help, avoiding, vent, tortence, illusion. The use of vent is higher for girl. The use of problem solving is higher for girl and the use of seeking help is higher for boy in junior school.4. There are significant differences between different grade and the higher grade use the positive and negative coping strategy such as problem solving, seeking help, vent, illusion. The use of problem solving, seeking help, illusion and withdraw is higher for good middle school student compared with common school student.5. There are significant differences in problem solving, seeking help and illusion between superior social anxiety group students and the inferior group students. The inferior members are higher than superior members in use of problem solving and seeking help, and the superior members are higher than the inferior members in use of illusion and withdraw. 6. Junior school students' social anxiety have obvious negative relationship with problem solving. Also the senior school students social anxiety hvave obvious negative relationship with problem solving and seeking help, while the senior school students social anxiety hvave obvious positive relationship with illusion.
