At present, the internal mechanism of parental conflict on social adaptability such as children’s social anxiety has attracted great attention from researchers both in China and abroad.Parental conflict can be regarded as an important factor leading to children’s social anxiety. At the same time,in the family structure where the parents have contradictions and conflicts, the children tend to attribute the reasons for the contradictions to themselves, thus resulting in low self-esteem due to the lack of care. The contradictions between the parents will also play a certain role in the children’s self-value and emotional insecurity. Thus, the children’s social anxiety and parental conflict, selfesteem, emotional insecurity have a certain relationship. The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of parents’ conflict on social anxiety of middle school students, and whether self-esteem and emotional insecurity mediate between parents’ conflict and social anxiety. In order to understand the internal influence mechanism of parental conflict on social anxiety and provide theoretical guidance for promoting the mental health development of middle school students.670 middle school students were given questionnaires by using parental conflict questionnaire, social anxiety index scale, selfesteem scale and emotional insecurity scale, and 534 questionnaires were successfully collected, and finally 509 valid questionnaires were obtained. After classifying the questionnaires, they were uploaded to SPSS26.0.Then,through SPSS26.0,data analysis and mediation test, this paper mainly analyzes the characteristics of middle school students’ parents’ conflict,self-esteem,emotional insecurity and social anxiety in demographic variables such as parents’ quarrel frequency, gender, place of origin, family structure and parents’ educational level, and further analyzes the relationship between middle school students’ parents’ conflict,self-esteem,emotional insecurity and social anxiety, and draws the following conclusions:(1)The parents’ conflict of middle school students is different in gender, study method, parents’ cultural level, parents’ quarrel frequency and family structure. The selfesteem of middle school students is significantly different in gender, study method, parents’ cultural level, parents’ quarrel frequency and source land. The emotional insecurity of middle school students is significantly different in family structure, parents’ cultural level, whether it is the only child, gender, study method, source land and parents’ quarrel frequency. The social anxiety of middle school students is significantly different in parents’ cultural level, family structure, gender, source land and parents’ quarrel frequency.(2)Parents’ conflict is positively correlated with middle school students’ emotional insecurity and social anxiety. The self-esteem of middle school students is negatively correlated with parental conflict, emotional insecurity and social anxiety.Students’ emotional insecurity is positively correlated with social anxiety.(3)Self-esteem partially mediates parental conflict and social anxiety, emotional insecurity partially mediates parental conflict and social anxiety, and self-esteem and emotional insecurity play parallel mediations between parental performance and social anxiety.According to the above conclusions,we should reduce family conflicts and improve conflict methods at the family level; At the school level, teachers should protect or enhance middle school students’ self-esteem,actively intervene middle school students through group assistance or consultation, and teach coping strategies to improve middle school students’ social anxiety. In addition, from the perspective of middle school students themselves, middle school students should also learn appropriate coping strategies, such as how to actively and correctly attribute and maintain their self-esteem level,so as to reduce the adverse effects caused by parental conflict on themselves.
