As a famous writer, Edith Wharton enjoyed a high reputation for American literary history in twentieth century. At that time, she was considered as one of the most outstanding women writers who have had international reputation first in the United States. But at the same time, she was also a writer who has many controversial issues in the critical world. She has finished more than forty works in her 50 years of creative career, including long novella, poetry, autobiography, literary criticism, travel and even interior decoration works. Edith Wharton's life experiences is unique, and her literary creation which was based on the background to the New York city also has an independent Road in literary history.
