The contemporary visual culture is a cultural shape which forms in the electronic vision dissemination technology rapid expansion's foundation. With the rapid development of modern science and technology, specially Internet, digital technique, virtual reality technology, multimedia video techniques and so on, the modern literature has had the revolutionary changes. The image becomes the predominant factor of the contemporary culture, it"has organized esthetics, and commanded the audience". The phenomenon of the"vision turn"and the"visual hegemony"present. The age of visual culture has approached. Between the vision and the culture has the well-established relations since ancient times. But now the visual culture changes into a new cultural shape, which is different from the discipline research in the visual connotation, also the pure artistic shape of the visual culture significance. Today it manifests unprecedentedly the priority and cultural connotation of the vision. It not only means that one cultural shape reforming, but also presents the great changes of generation's cultural idea and the survival way.The article is divided into four major parts. The first part mainly described the important signification of the literature. The second part is to visual culture and the visual culture time inquisition. The third part described the survival prospect of the literature in the visual culture time. The fourth part inquired about literature present situation's reconsideration and the future with the develop of the visual culture time.Today the problem of the literature surviving in the age of visual culture becomes more and more important. It has realistic significance and research value of the issue. We look forward to the rapid development of the literature.
