Figurative Words in the article refers to the words and expressions which are created by Figurative coinage means. The meaning of the Figurative Words comes into born when they form,as soon as the Figurative Words come into being. Those who have acquired metaphoral meaning unbirthrightly just words such as "光景(figurate complexion) ","田地(figurate degree)" are not Figurative Words. This paper discusses the characristics of Figurative Words and expressions which are created by Figurative coinage means in the late Qing Detective Stories " Tales of Magistrate Bao and His Valiant Lieutenants,"" the Legal Matter Connected with Lord Peng"," the Legal Matter Connected with Lord Shi", "Xiao Wu Yi".This paper is divided into six parts,introduction of the concept of Figurative Words, Figurative Words and words acquire metaphoral meaning unbirthrightly , Figurative Words and words which Morpheme's Meaning are fixed. And summarizes the Figurative Words of the study status and its color characteristics and the history of Chinese Vocabulary development.The first chapter introduces this choice of the Corpus and its characteristics. This paper selected chivalrous detective fiction language is very close to the oral, and the lives of the broader coverage, Catch involving business, it will not be confined to its vocabulary in a particular area, there will not be a strong social dialects sex. From Corpus length, this four corpus were 2.971 million words, a fairly large scale to a more comprehensive manner to express the types and characteristics of Figurative Words in the late Qing Dynasty.Chapter 2 introduces characteristics of Figurative Words in the chosen corpus.They are mainly two types: Metaphor- style words and Metonymy -style words.Total 168, the frequency of a total of 1561 times.Chapter 3 introduces characteristics of Figurative expressions which are created by Figurative coinage means.They are mainly idiom, Idiom, Chinese folk wisecracks and proverbs. Idioms are the most enormous volume of a total of 203 cases, followed by the proverb, a total of 63 cases, is once again used the phrase, a total of 16 cases. at least the Chinese folk wisecracks are 5 cases. And the proportion of these four words in the modern Chinese phrase System ratio is basically similar. Chapter 4 discusses lexical meaning and phraseological meaning of Figurative Words. Figurative Words are mostly words which have single meaning,the significance of a dark color or saucy or refined, its performance edge is very prominent. Construction of the idiom analogy Most are single. Obviously emotional, or praise or criticism, with very few neutral words. And noted that similar imagination are basis of the meaning of Figurative Words.Conclusion Chapter of the above elements have been summarized and made a lot of unsolved problems. For example, the Figurative Words prone areas and right classification of target how to build the Figurative Words scientific classification system; Figurative Words lexicalization and the essence of vitality of it; in addition to Chinese words other than the language of word formation and the status of rhetoric and so on.
