The Study Of Zhang Xiaoxiang's Poetry

Zhang Xiaoxiang,whose Courtesy name is Anguo (1132-1169) and Pseudonym is Yu Hu Hermit,was a famous ci-poet in Southern Song Dynasty.In the 24th year of Shaoxing,Zhang Xiaoxiang was nominated as the Number One Scholar by Song Gaozong,Zhao Gou When he was 23 years old.Xiaoxiang was handsome;his literary talent was very eximious.Moreover,he was good at writing,painting,calligraphy and always wrote memorial to the throne by his own.He died when he was 36 years old.Song Xiaozong Zhao Rui said it's a pity that he did not make the best use of Xiaoxiang's ability.Zhang Xiaoxiang's work "Yu Hu Ci" was famous for his patriotic spirit and handed down since ancient times.224 works of him exist even in today.He is an important poet in the early period of The Southern Song Dynasty.As the connecting link between the Dongpo Ci and the Jiaxuan Ci,he made contributions to the development of Xin Qiji's bold and unconstrained poetry style.His poetry had great influence and was broadcasted from mouth to mouth.This article is divided into three parts.The first chapter mainly focuses on the research of Zhang Xiaoxiang's life.It studies whether he was put into prison just because he was disobedient with Qin Gui and his love tragedy.Through the analysis of the related material,we have discovered that the person who was put into prison at that time was not Zhang Xiaoxiang,but his father Zhang Qi instead.Zhang Xiaoxiang met Tongzhi's mother Miss.Li in his early years.They lived together and gave birth to Zhang Xiaoxiang's eldest son Tongzhi. Afterward,they were compelled to separate from each other because of some reasons.Because they had such experience that he could create so plangent and touching poem to commemorate.The second section studies Zhang Xiaoxiang's political attitude.He approved of active fight all along.He longed for the thriving and prosperous Southern Song Dynasty.He also hoped the Northern Expedition could restore the south of Yellow River and the unification of the whole country.The second chapter mainly carries out a detailed analysis about Zhang Xiaoxiang's "Yu Hu Ci" from its theme.We divide his poetry into three types:love poetry,patriotic poetry and vast ease poetry.The second section analyzes the artistic features of "Yu Hu Ci" from five aspects.The predecessors analyzed Zhang Xiaoxiang's poetry style mainly from "taking poem as Ci",and seldom studied his artistic creation skills.In this section we study his poetry from his creation skill.The third section inquired into the reasons why the style of "Yu Hu Ci" could come into being.Noble-minded personality,sentiment of concerning about the country and people composes the characteristic of Yu Huci,which is easeful and has the vigorous and unrestrained spirit of the poet.The third chapter discusses the status and influence of "Yu Hu Ci" in the poetry world.It makes a quantitative analysis by using the famous contemporary scholar's research material about Zhang Xiaoxiang.Moreover,it defines the poets' influence and status according to the prevalence of their poetry.The second section discusses that Zhang Xiaoxiang's poetry inherited Su Shi and influenced Xin Qiji.So he was intermediary character of SuXin Ci.
