The Relationship Among Personality, Defense Style And Adaptation Of College Students

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship among personality,defense style and adaptation of college students,correctly guiding the adaptation and development of college students by basis of psychology.The study used Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised Short Scale for Chinese(EPQ-RSC),Defense Style Questionnaire(DSQ) and College Student Adaptability Inventory(CSAI) to examine 869 college students and conducted statistical analysis by means of SPSS For Windows 13.0.The paper not only analyzed personality,denfense style and adaptation of college students on population variables,investigated the correlation among personality,defense style and adaptation of college students,but also discussed defense style playing mediating effect between personality and adaptation in college students.The result of the study indicates:1.On psychoticism(P) of college students' personality,there was significant difference of school major and gender;there was significant difference of singleton on extraversion(E);there was no significant difference on school,major,grade,gender,birthplace and singleton on neuroticism (N)and lie(L).2.There was significant difference of school,gender and singleton on immature defense;on mature defense there was significant difference of school;there was also significant difference of major,grade and gender on covering factor of defense;there was no difference of school,major,grade, gender,birthplace and singleton on intermediate defense.3.There was marked significant difference of school,major,grade and singleton on the score of adaptation and learning adaptability;there was significant difference of major,birthplace and singleton on interpersonal adaptability;there was significant difference of grade,birthplace and singleton on self adaptability;on career choice adaptability,there was significant difference of school,major,grade,gender and singleton;there was also marked significant difference of school,major and grade on livelihood self-management adaptability,environmental general evaluation and somatic-mental symptom.4.There was marked significant correlation among personality,defense style and adaptation of college students.5.Through the mediating effect test of defense style between personality and adaptation of college students,it could be learned:defense style was mediator between personality and adaptation,personality influence adaptation by defense style.
