During the only trading port in Ming and Qing dynasties, Jiangxi transit trade was rampant. Traditional market economy centred on Jinde town,Hekou town ,Zhangshu town and Wucheng town prospered, which promoted the development of socialeconomy and occupied certain position among national economic pattern.After 5 ports opening, especially after the opening of Yangtze River valley, the whole national pattern of trade and trade routes have changed fundamentally. And so, with Jiujiang opening, Jiangxi market pattern and trade routes also made corresponding adjustments: traditional towns was on the wane, emerging towns rose abruptly; The economy centre moved to north; Under the new market environment, new changes have appeared in import and export trade, industrial structure, and the people living.This paper mainly discusses the basic phenomenons and features in the period of modern social transition in Jiangxi from these three aspects: traditional trade routes and market pattern, Jiujiang opening and the changing of market structure, modern market and the changing of local social economy. Therefore, the loss of regional advantages resulted in the marginalization of modern Jiangxi trade, and the inspiration which came from rough truggling of modern Jiangxi market to reality.
