Our normal universities have been adopting the European modern music education system since the 20th century. We should recognize the fact that European modern music education system has played an important role on our country's music education and the cultivation of hundreds of music instructors and performers. However, at the same time, long-term professional education based on the European music theoretical system has neglected the traditional Chinese national music culture, which renders the stagnant situation of national instrument teaching in normal universities. Diversification of education cannot be neglected when globalization is developing rapidly. To comprehend a multicultural music education, we should understand its origin from the perspective of the history and education background in each historical period. Our ancient national instruments have great developing opportunities when facing rigorous competition in this new historical period.Chinese bamboo flute is one of the most ancient national instruments in China, and plays an extremely important role in music band. The offering of all kinds of national music instruments like bamboo flute can undoubtedly cultivate much more professional talents, and at the same time meet people's demand of national culture.At present, the aim and developing direction of music education in normal university is still primary, and the curriculum framework adopts the mode of music institutes mostly. Although the music education teaching in normal universities has taken some reform in recent years, it does go beyond the superficial reform of teaching ways. Deeper structural reform, such as its aim, reasonable curriculum framework and modern education thoughts are still in their primary stage. Based on his rich experiences on bamboo flute teaching, the writer of this thesis concludes that because of the diversification of students' professional level and their employment preference we cannot take the mode of music institutes without any changes, whether it is teaching methods or teaching contents. Otherwise we should follow the education principle and aim of normal university, and give high attention to the function of model with regard to teaching methods according to students' actual physical and mind developing situation as well as their professional levels. However, to our disappointment, there has not been so much papers on the topic of the reform of bamboo flute teaching in normal universities. Therefore, the writer of this thesis gives a fundamental exploration to bamboo flute teaching in normal universities in light of his learning and teaching experiences in order to adapt ourselves to present situation of education reform in normal universities.
