The death of Hai Zi was a heavy symbol of Chinese poetry in the late 1980s. Hai Zi's comet-like career, mythical poetry empire, unique poetry style and the language creation that most people could hardly match posed in the history of contemporary Chinese poetry a stunning spectacle.This paper attempts to interpret Hai Zi's works and his related personal thoughts, to grasp his lyrics style. This paper holds the view that Hai Zi' style of lyric poetry experienced the changes from early Romanticism to late modernism. There were three aspects in his changes. The first was the the change of the main images. The second was the changes in the way of his statement. The third was changes in the subject of poetry Implication.There were two reasons that lead to the changes in his artistic style. One was the reason of arts, the other was the ideological reason. The first reason included the changes of the arts of poetry ontology and the ideal. Ideological reasons included his change of attitude in Eternal reincarnation and the changes from his early pursuit of personal interests to the concern of the existence of life.Hai Zi showed the purity and noblity of poetry by the destruction of poetry, causing profound changes in modern poetry. Hai Zi established his own style of poetry with his unique thought and artistic expression. He was the most creative poet of the contemporary times. He made the myth of the immortal Hai Zi.
