Great attention to the interpersonal relationship in dormitory has been caused by the frequent happening of malignant events in dormitories at campus. The interpersonal relationship in higher vocational school dormitory has its unique characteristics due to the different family and learning environment with that of undergraduates. In order to reveal the characteristics of interpersonal relationship among roommates in higher vocational school, students in higher vocational school of Yantai and Qingdao in Shandong province are selected,624effective questionnaires of interpersonal relationship in dormitories, EMBU and NEO-FFI have been got. Compared with college students, this thesis discusses the situation of interpersonal relationship among roommates, and studies the parental rearing styles and personality that affect the interpersonal relationship, then verifies the model that was put forward based on literatures.The following four conclusions are drawn in this thesis:(l)The interpersonal relationship among roommates of higher vocational school students is better than that of undergraduates. In terms of interpersonal relationship in dormitories of higher vocational school students, females are better than males, and liberal arts students are better than science students, and only children are better than non-only children. With the increase of grade, the interpersonal relationship among roommates gets worse. Students from country are better than that from city as for cognition of interpersonal relationship.(2)The students’interpersonal relationship in dormitory is significantly positively correlative to the warm-understanding rearing style and is significantly negatively corrective to the negative parenting rearing styles such as punishment, rejection and preference. Too much interference and protection, rejection and preference of parents exerts an influence on interpersonal relationship among roommates.(3)The students’interpersonal relationship in dormitory is significantly positively correlative to openness, extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness of big five personality and is significantly negatively corrective to neuroticism. Neuroticism, extraversion and conscientiousness exert an influence on interpersonal relationship among roommates.(4)The partial mediating effect that is played by personality between parenting rearing styles and interpersonal relationship in dormitory is verified.
