Language and Culture are complementary and interdependent to each other. Overseas Chinese education which should not be confined in practising language skills,should be a window to China.It is significant to take into account that Chinese knowledge culture should be introduced in a way friendly and appropriate in order to satisfy the learners' desire for knowledge,and to stimulate their interest. Especially,for middle school students,Chinese textbooks should aim at widening their vision and developing their awareness of cross-culture communication.In this research five sets of Chinese textbooks for middle school students in Thailand were selected.According to the study on these textbooks,the common ground and characrastics of the layouts of Chinese knowledge culture in the five sets were analyzed.And a survey is made to investigate the students' attitude toward the layouts.Comparing the analysis of the textbooks and the attitude of the students,the merits and drawbacks of these textbooks were pointed out and some suggestion on layout of Chinese textbooks for overseas middle school students were made at the end.
