On Zhou Zuoren's "Human Literature" In The Background Of "May 4th"

May 4th New Culture Movement is an unprecedented movement for the liberation of thought, in this movement, all values are set up around acentral concept------Human. The pioneers of culture call for "theawakening of the people" and promote "the conscious people", by it , China implement the "person" found on the nature of meaning. The "person" found opened a new era for May 4th literature, the performance self-characteristics of the literature show the existence value of people and the rich connotation of people in all areas: Literature develop from concerning about the "natural existence" to concerning about the "social existence"; from promoting universal and abstract human nature to strengthening the awareness of civilians.Zhou Zuoren was the first banner to show the "Human Literature" slogan obviously in 1918. Later, he published "The Literature of Common People ',"Thought Revolution "and "The calling for of the New Literature "to Expound his "Human Literature", I think his commitment to explore and construct the theory of the "Human Literature" is a response to the trend of the times and fully embodies the spirit of "May 4th". In this paper, Zhou's "Human Literature" is restored to its specific condition and the dominant culture tide of "May 4th" to visit. Meanwhile, "May 4th" is not only a time of social change, it's a time of opening to make progress and to encourage the conscious Literature; a lot of culture forerunners express their literary theories on the original century (such as Chen Duxiu, Hu Shi)to set up a new system of literary theory. As "the Bellwether" of May 4th New Culture Movement, Hu Shi and Chen Duxiu's literature concepts no doubt affect the afterward supporters. Zhou Zuoren is one among them, but with regard to Zhou Zuoren, he doesn't accept and support their literature concepts simply, he gave May 4th literature with new endoplasm and realized a new breakthrough in the literature theory by integrate and create. This paper analyze and clarify the logic connections between Hu Shi,Chen Duxiu and Zhou Zuoren's literature concepts based on the "Human Literature","The Literature of Common People "and "Thought Revolution".
