The reproduction of literary style has attracted more and more attention in the translation field. At the same time, some controversial problems on literary translation have been discussed either in the theoretical or the practical field, such as the translatability and reproduction of style. The author believes that the literary style is translatable and style translation constitutes one of the indispensable parts of literary translation. This thesis tries to expound this point from the perspective of stylistics, or rather, by applying the stylistic markers theory to the analysis and reproduction of the original literary style.Based on previous studies on style reproduction, this thesis develops the subject starting from the concept of style, and then delves into the relationship between the translator's style and writer's style in translation and further poses the issue of translatability of literary style. On the premises of admitting the translatability of style, the thesis elaborates the significance of the stylistic markers theory when applied to the style analysis in the original text and reproduction in the target text. Compared with the traditional aesthetic literary view, the stylistic markers theory adopts a more objective and comprehensive perspective and methodology, thus providing the translator with a more concrete and explicit method on literary reproduction in practice.Xu Yuanchong's translated works of Ci-poetry are considered to be the outstanding version among many other translations. In order to illustrate the issue of literary reproduction, the thesis chooses the typical translated works of Ci-poetry by Xu Yuanchong to discuss the analysis and reproduction of literary style with the stylistic markers theory as the tool and basis. This thesis will evaluate Xu Yuanchong's translation according to the different stylistic markers, so as to guide the translation of literary style and initiate further exploration on this issue.
