Literary translation, especially poem translation, is not the technical changes in language signs. It requires that translators should correctly and adequately reproduce both the form and content of the original text. That is to say, poem translation should reproduce the original style to the utmost extent in the process of reproducing the original content, while at the same time, the translation should achieve the beauties in sense, sound and form so that readers of translation would be moved, inspired and aesthetically entertained as if they were reading the original poem. Therefore, it is of great significance for translators to give free rein to their creativity and seek unswervingly style reproduction of the source text in their literary translation practice.Chang Hen Ge written by Bai Juyi enjoys a high comment in literature and aesthetic fields. It creates a moving and tear-jerking story by resorting to the historic personages and legends. And by the constitution of artistic figures, the poem reproduces the hero and heroine in real life and moves the readers for generations.This thesis begins with the definitions and conceptions of translation style and Three-beauty theory in order to prove the translatability of style and the feasibility of the realization of three beauties in translating a poem. Then, based on the stylistic markers at phonological, lexical, syntactical, textual, register and figures of speech levels, the thesis examines whether these markers could be reproduced at the same time while the translation achieves the beauties in sense, sound as well as form.Finally, through the analysis of Xu Yuanchong’s version of Chang Hen Ge, the thesis tries to demonstrate that an outstanding poem translation could reproduce the style in the largest extent and possess the features of beauties in sense, sound and form.
