From history,the problem about Human essence has been cared by thinkers. But,the flaws in the philosophical theory of philosophers didn't led them to know Human essence enough until Marx's historical materialism was established. As long as Marx and Engels brought the view of practice in to philosophy,people had scientific method to know Human essence.Marx made the"practical individual"as the springboard of his philosophy, which solved the obstacles in the relationship between nature and society. As an important part of the philosophy of Marx, we should understand it with the whole system and the other conceptions, such as"practice","society","consciousness"and so on. Practice is the most important feature of the"practical individual"compared with other philosophies. This dose not means Marx neglected the corporality of the"practical individual". On the contrary, the corporality is included. The"practical individual"also is the social individual and the individual who has consciousness.Human essence of Marxis not the need of human or practice,it is the sum total of all social relationship.Such conclusion not only overcome spartiality of comprehension supported by past philosophers, but also demonstrates that the power and source of the development of Human essence.Human essence is objective,concrete and it develops historically.Today,we study the theory of Human essence has both theoretical and practical significances.
