As a newly-emerged industry in the twenty-first century, anime is nourishing in a vigorous manner. As it is a key stage for the development of China's anime industry, it is believed that exploration of the anime education in Xin Jiang higher vocational institutions is of great significance.The anime industry in Xin Jiang is at its beginning stage. At the moment, concerns about how to stay in line with the local market demand and nurture talents in the industry as well as develop a path with strong Xin Jiang flavour have become an opportunity and also a challenge that is put forward to all higher education institutions and relevant anime training organisations in Xin Jiang, among which, the higher vocational institutions will certainly play a key role in nurturing anime talents. The anime industry is one which comprises cultural deposits and economic power. In this digital era, the society demands a bigger variety of anime products. Xin Jiang is the West Gate of China. Anime designs of regional or Xin Jiang local ethnic flavours are sure to have a promising market prospect and are of good importance. For a newly-boosted industry as such, it will no doubt be a big challenge for higher vocational institutions in Xin Jiang to equip themselves with teaching facilities and high-quality teaching staff.In this study, the current offering of anime and pan-anime programmes and the current situation of anime companies in the Xin Jiang district were surveyed. Based on relevant information collected from questionnaires, this paper tries to position students, training objectives, programmes and employment situation of higher vocational anime programmes. Besides the above, the education blueprint of this paper also explores the advantages of'school runs and industry trains','school industry 1+1'education models such as''school industry joint admission'in Xin Jiang higher vocational education. This paper proposes training models which are featured by integrating demonstrations into theory lessons, case sharing into software lessons and projects into practicum. It also proposes adding anime programmes with a strong Xin Jiang flavour into the current programme systems. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of improving the quality of teaching staff by employing high-end talents, building a team of'double-rounded'teaching staff and'pan-anime'teaching crews majoring in artistic designers and computer multi-media technology. Last but not least, it suggests tackling lack of resources by adopting a plan of'progressive purchasing'of anime ancillary facilities and in the mean time, enhancing academic exchanges through building an anime education communication platform.Based on anime teaching and production experience as well as relevant research findings, this paper analyses the current situation of higher vocational education in the Xin Jiang District. It also makes constructive exploration into education models, teaching models, as well as the building of teaching staff in anime education. It is hoped that this paper can firstly provide some reference for the present anime education in the Xin Jiang higher education field; and secondly offers a better prospect for the local anime education blueprint which aims at promoting a healthy and sustainable development of anime education in Xin Jiang with a scientific and realistic attitude. This paper looks forward to a future in which the Xin Jiang anime cultural industry plays a key role in China.
