Keep The Balance Between Art And Commerce

Hong Kong commercial film not only gets a great amount of commercial profit, but also creats many new artistic ways. However, as a representative of Hong Kong commercial film directors, Tsui Hark has been making the effort to keep the balance between art and commerce, and he make great success in the both facets. Thererfore, he is an issue of concern in the academic community.My text will use the method of cases analysing and contrasting to research Tsui Hark's feature and style of film in the background of "fresh wave" of Hong Kong film and Hong Kong commercial film, in other words, that is to study his special art style of adpapting, portraying human figure onscreen, the outstanding aesthetics of film symbol, and the diversty of themes. The standpoint of this issue is to see the general characteristic feature of Hong Kong commercial film from Tsui Hark's film, so the third part of the text is mainly about Tsui Hark's position in Hong Kong commercial film and the general characteristic feature of Hong Kong commercial film, so as to place a mutual relationship between Hong Kong commercial film and Tsui Hark's film. In the last part ,my text will analyse recent situation and development prospects of Hong Kong commercial film from the practical viewpoint , then point out the way of Hong Kong commercial film , that is cooperation with film directors in the mainland of China, and make the film follow the globalization line.
