The Research Of Application Of Auspicious Pattern In Logo Design

This paper is presented to the study of the traditional symbols of auspicious motifs within the field of its application in theory and practical research in Logo Design. In this paper, the author pointed out the traditional culture in the Logo Design is demanded by the development of the modern design and social development. As the Logo Design is an important area in the field of the Modern Design; the traditional auspicious patterns is an important aspect of the Chinese traditional culture, while the traditional auspicious motifs and Logo Design share the common characteristic of being "Symbolic", therefore it is a significant method to apply the traditional auspicious motifs while designing the Logo to present a integration between the traditional culture and modern design.By analyzing the impact of Logo Design in the current international trend, the author proposed the importance of integrating the traditional culture in the process of Logo design. The author further emphasized in this paper that the integration of using traditional pattern in modern design is not only necessities of competition in today's international markets or requirements for verities in design but it is the also the need of traditional culture it self. The author has also identified the conjoint point, by comparing the characteristics of the Logo Design and the traditional auspicious motifs.By analyzing the existing examples of the Logos which involved with the symbolic traditional auspicious patterns, the author discovered that although there are many excellent cases however the trend of weakening and ignorance of using the traditional auspicious patterns and problem of simple reproduction of application processes.To find solutions for these problems, the author has analyzed the successful examples of existing Logo Designs with the traditional auspicious patters in accordance with presenting of various forms of the traditional auspicious patterns, and the author has given a preliminary conclusion of the methods for such application in this paper.The author hoped that the conclusion reached in this paper for methods of application of using the traditional auspicious patterns in Logo Design would bring value for designers in future.
