The opera Regret for the Past is composed for commemorating Luxun's 100th birthday anniversary by famous composer Shi Guangnan in 1981.It is created according to Mr.Luxun's novel of the same name.Regret for the Past is a very important work in the Chinese opera history,it has the enormous significance to the innovation practice of Chinese national opera.Regret for the Past benefits a lot from the Western opera manifested style,adopts many kinds of vocal music styles,uses the sonata-like music structure.It is the first lyric psychological opera in our country.
