The Characterization Of Zijun In Opera Regret For The Past

The opera Regret for the Past is composed for commemorating Luxun's 100 th birthday anniversary according to Luxun's novel Regret for the Past by scripter Wngquan, Hanwei and composer Shi Guangnan. It is the first lyrical opera in the opera history of our country, as well as one of the important achievements for the creation of Chinese national opera in the 1980's. In the opera, Zijun sings Wisteria, A Sunset Moment, Just the Wind and so on, which we've song in the process of learning vocal music. That wonderful and meaningful music move me deeply, making me admire this opera greatly. My supervisor put forward a suggestion that we can try performing the whole opera Regret for the Past when I prepared my diploma project. I understand more profoundly the character Zijun through the successful presentation and the acting of the character Zijun after the preparation for most of the semester.This paper through the analysis of the characteristics of Zijun, the significant parts of the music, and the performance of the songs, constructs the frame of Zijun's musical image and provides certain theory basis for better acting the role Zijun. According to the previous theoretical basis and combine my own practical experience, I make an analysis for the application of the actor's lines, the two sides of stage performance according to the true situation. In a word, through the performance and analysis of the whole opera Regret for the Past, we intend to better construct the image of the main role, Zijun.
