The research on animal nouns and plant nouns is the important component of research on object in traditionallinguistics. In this paper, we mainly based on the"Meng Xi Bi Tan", with the reference Li haixia"Research on animal一naming in acient Chinese"and Tan hongjiao"Research on plant一naming in acient Chinese". The paper mainly used of following theories: Relative to proof of object named and phased theory of terminology occurred and accumulation. We did a focused, systematic research on 274 animal nouns and plant nouns in"Meng Xi Bi Tan", so as to set up the history of Chinese vocabulary and improve the provision of language material and conclusions.The paper is mainly made of the following components:Chapter I: Introduction. In this part, we mainly introducedthe author and version, the purpose of the study,tasks of the research, the theory and methods of the study and materials choice.Chapter II: Determination and profile of anima nouns and plant nouns in the"Meng Xi Bi Tan". This fllowings are the main results in this chapter: 1, The identification standard of the object and noun words . 2, Determination and profile of crop nouns. In the"Meng Xi Bi Tan", we had totally 274 animal nouns and plant nouns, there were 78 single section,196 double section(170 two-syllable,and 26 multi-syllable).Chapter III: Building phrase methods of animal nouns and plant nouns in the"Meng Xi Bi Tan". This chapter primarily carded and summarized animal nouns and plant nouns in the"Meng Xi Bi Tan"from syntactic buiding phrases methods, rhetoric buiding phrases methods, and morphology buiding phrases methods.Chapter IV: Historical origins of animal nouns and plant nouns in the"Meng Xi Bi Tan".This chapter is mainly from the diachronic point of view, to find out each of animal nouns and plant nouns in the"Meng Xi Bi Tan"were the first time the word, and to study these nouns are using in modern.Chapter V: The research on animal nouns and plant nouns"Meng Xi Bi Tan"to compile dictionary, can offer the documented evidenc, and revised the deficiency of"The Great Dictionary of Chinese".
